BIG WHISKEY’S TO ADD FRANCHISE LOCATION IN KANSAS CITY SUBURB
November 25, 2019, Springfield MO — Big Whiskey’s will gain a third Kansas City area location, a franchise operation to be located in Oak Grove, MO. Oak Grove, a suburb nestled thirty minutes east of Kansas City along I-70, is an ideal location for the “American Restaurant & Bar” concept.
The ownership group, which consists of a combination of restaurateurs and hotel operators, chose the location because of the close-knit community feel and the prospect of becoming part of the fabric of Oak Grove. A representative of the ownership group said, “We come from a small community where everyone knows you. We want our Big Whiskey’s to be the place where the community can gather, enjoy a nice meal and know the people who are creating that experience for them.”
Big Whiskey’s boasts a “Community First” approach, supporting the communities it inhabits by hosting “Give Back Nights”. On “Give Back Nights” ten-percent of sales from 6 pm - 8 pm are donated to groups who qualify. The brand encourages school groups, youth sports teams, and charity organizations to participate. Austin Herschend, President of Big Whiskey’s Operations, said of the deal, “We are really excited about the new Oak Grove location. The community is very similar to those where we got our start in the Ozarks and have had so much success. The ownership group is committed to bringing Oak Grove a place guests can enjoy for years to come.”
“We were looking for the perfect opportunity for Oak Grove and Big Whiskey’s was it. When evaluating our options, nearly a dozen of them, Big Whiskey’s floated to the top because of the menu and the atmosphere. The menu is robust and different from what everyone is used to and the atmosphere is unique. We want our guests to be surprised and excited to come back time and again,” stated the representative.
In addition to a wide-ranging whiskey selection, Big Whiskey’s boasts an extensive menu featuring bold, flavorful plates and great choices for either lunch, happy hour, dinner, or late-night. A rotating seasonal menu compliments the brand’s staple items that include: Buffalo Chicken Wontons, crispy fried wontons filled with Big Whiskey’s Buffalo Chicken Dip; the mouthwatering Big Whiskey BBQ Craft Burger, topped with crispy onion rings, bacon and homemade Honey Whiskey BBQ sauce; and a selection of hand-cut steaks and homemade pasta dishes.
Big Whiskey’s was founded in downtown Springfield, MO in 2006 and currently operates in Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri with additional stores in Alabama and Oklahoma, as well as three additional stores in Northwest Arkansas on the horizon.
