ARE YOU HUNGRY? GoWaiter Named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s “98 Brave New Franchises” List

2011 doubles franchises to 25 in six states; hundreds of restaurants sign on

“Even in the toughest economic times, you can't stop entrepreneurs from dreaming big,” says Entrepreneurmagazine’s Tracy Stapp as she introduces the list of “98 Brave New Franchises.” GoWaiter, America’spremiere restaurant delivery service is included, topping off what has been a spectacular year for the company with operations now in Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, Connecticut, Colorado and Georgia.

“The GoWaiter business model is built around community, connection and delicious food,” says Brian Crawford, vice president of Franchising. “Everyone loves a good meal. If it’s delivered directly to your home or office for a low fee, it becomes a great meal.”

Restaurants that once shied away from home/office delivery are now putting their faith in the GoWaiter restaurant delivery model. One reason may be the National Restaurant Association’s (NRA) July Restaurant Performance Index (RPI), which “tracks the health of and outlook for the U.S. restaurant industry.” In July that number was 99.7, “one of the lowest levels in a year,” says the Association. A concern, perhaps given that, “The summer months are typically the most popular time of the year to dine out, due to travel and tourism and outdoor dining activities,” says the NRA. Over the past several years, delivery and take-out are becoming more popular.

“The fact that one in five have used restaurant services for their outdoor dining activities,” said Hudson Riehle, senior vice president of the Research and Knowledge Group for the National Restaurant Association. “Restaurants have served millions of guests over the last three months, both in their establishments and with takeout and delivery options for picnics and cookouts in backyards and parks across America.”

The key to GoWaiter’s success is partnerships with as many as 40 restaurants in a given area.

“Our customers can order from restaurants that serve meals that can include Caribbean, Mexican, Japanese and even Greek,” adds Crawford. “Moms and dads order online at GoWaiter.com for their college students, friends order meals for families that are faced with illness or death of a loved one, and some have told us they send meals to new moms who rarely have time to cook. We’re pleased with our connection to the communities we serve, the jobs we’re creating and the additional revenues we’re adding to the local areas.”

According to the National Restaurant Association's 2011 Restaurant Industry Forecast, “Restaurants are the nation's second-largest private sector employer. Every dollar spent in restaurants generates $2.05 spent in the overall economy.”

GoWaiter charges a minimal fee for delivery. Menus can be found online and orders can be placed directly from the website at GoWaiter.com. The company is committed to providing its customers with access to delicious area restaurant dishes, delivered conveniently to home, office, hotel or school. With a focus on building local communities, GoWaiter.com is part of a family of owners with locations across the United States. To see if GoWaiter is in your area, visit GoWaiter.com.
